What you see below is a before (top) and after (bottom) shot from lunch one day last week. Margaux had a very loose tooth, and it came out while we were eating lunch at McKinley's in Fort Worth. She was very impressed that the tooth fairy found her in Texas. Another tooth is loose, so there may be more news on this front before long. In addition to the teeth, you might also notice that Margaux is pretty banged up in these pictures. She took a spill at school. The only funny thing about that is that whenever anyone asks her what happened, she just looks at them and says, "Face plant." Her face is already looking much better, though. Kids heal so quickly! I'm thankful for that because I was beginning to think our Christmas card picture was going to look like an ad for Child Protective Services.

Halloween pics
She helped by scooping out the seeds, meat, and pulp.
Here are our finished products! The small pumpkin was one they gave her at school. She insisted that the big pumpkin be smiling and that the little one look spooky. She named the little one "Baby Face" and the big one "Earl." Make of these facts what you will.
This is her Halloween costume this year...a bat!

Somebody has been busy
When I put Margaux to bed last night, the bed was clear, she was under the covers and all her stuffed animals were up on a tall shelf. When I went in to check on her before I went to bed, this is what I found. It's hard to tell it from the picture, but she is sleeping in a very small corner of the bed.

A Bedtime Story
We switched things up last night, and Margaux told me a bedtime story instead of me telling her one. Here's her story. Nothing has been changed or added. Spelling of some unusual words is just a guess.
Once upon a time in a far faraway land called New York
there lived a giant animal named a snortysnufalus. The snortysnufalus looks kind of like an elephant except
that it is pink with red and orange polka dots and has orange eyes that it can
see out of. It lives in the water
and has a blowhole. It eats and
drinks a liquid called fortaxim that gives it energy and that it can blow out
its blowhole. People hardly ever
see the snortysnufalus, but it’s in the water about four miles from the Statue
of Liberty.

Perhaps we've been watching a bit too much TV
The other day I overheard Margaux saying, "Toilet, commode, potty, throne, ..." and the list went on. I said, "Margaux, who taught you all those different names?" She said, "I don't know, but Clorox cleans them all!"
While we were in North Carolina with family, I told Margaux it was time to go to bed. She got really upset and exclaimed, "I can't go now! There's more late night fun coming right up!"
